FORMAT:Consent Agenda SYNOPSIS INCLUDING PRO & CON: Change Order No. 6 to Larson Construction, Co., Inc., is for: Item #1: $50,274.75 The SE quadrant the fields were adjusted from softball fields to baseball fields in the middle of the design process. The fields were lengthened, backstops changed, etc. However, the bullpens on each field were left at the same length as the softball fields. In order to facilitate 14U baseball it was determined that the bullpens needed to increase by 20’ (8 total bullpens). The cost is to account for the additional fencing, fence posts, ballfield material, concrete maintenance edge, and subdrain. Items #2: $13,589.38 During the shop drawing process for the synthetic turf, Confluence reviewed the submittals and the design plans and determined that the plans called out for drainage to all of these areas. However, the drain tile that was to be placed under the turf was not shown on the drawings. This change is to add those 2” drain tiles to the 12 locations (4 in each quad). There was no re-work, and this was just the cost of the material and installation. This change also included a credit for the drain tile that was shown under the playground area that was re-designed at the request of the playground manufacturer. Items #3: $897.36 This cost provided is for the reorder of doors #3-103 and #3-104 on the miracle field building to obtain doors of the correct depth. This was due to a conflict on ETHOS’ door schedule. Since these were already on site and purchased once, ETHOS will reimburse the City for this change. Items #4: $4,688.23 This change was to adjust two separate manhole structures and some associated curbs. One at the NW Quad and another at the NE Quad. The utilities that were installed with the Waukee Northwest High School project the year prior to this project had to be slightly adjusted to allow for our curb and gutter to be located around them. The team explored many options in how we could work with them in the existing locations, but in the end we settled on the most economical option which is included in this change. Items #5: 9,378.60 The rough-in for two showers in the maintenance building was bid in the project. The plumbing drawings did not call out for a specific shower stall or finish fixtures in these two locations. This change adds in the shower stalls and associated plumbing fixtures. J1E1 Items #6: (984.15) With a minor adjustment in the irrigation system during the show drawing process it was determined that this sensor was no longer needed. This is a credit of the cost of the sensor. Items #7: $3,836.70 Cost for plumbing adjustments that were necessary to match the owner supplied appliances within the concession stands (ice machines, coffee maker). There was adjustments made in each of the 3 concession stands. Quantities have been reviewed and agreed upon by the contractor, City staff, and Confluence. The City and the Design Team have been on site reviewing items, attending meetings and completing site review several times a week for the past months. The seven items below are all things that have been thoroughly reviewed with the team. As you know, many discussions happen in the field, get approved and we agree to move forward with no cost changes. Your staff and design team are working hard to keep these change orders to a minimum. This Change Order accounts for seven items: Item #1: (Bullpen Extensions) $50,274.75 The SE quadrant the fields were adjusted from softball fields to baseball fields in the middle of the design process.
