AGENDA ITEM: Consideration of approval of a Motion to set a Public Hearing Date of
March 21, 2022, as the date of public hearing on an ordinance to amend
Chapter 169, Zoning Ordinance, City of Waukee, Iowa, by rezoning
certain property from A-1 (Agricultural District) to AR (Single-Family
Acreage District) [Dowell Property]
FORMAT: Motion
SYNOPSIS INCLUDING PRO & CON: Staff has received a request for rezoning of
approximately 6.48-acres of property from A-1 to AR. The property is
generally located east of Ute Avenue and approximately one mile south
of Interstate 80. The applicant has received the necessary consent of
property owners within 250-feet.
FISCAL IMPACT INCLUDING COST/BENEFIT ANALYSIS:
COMMISSION/BOARD/COMMITTEE COMMENT:
STAFF REVIEW AND COMMENT: Staff would recommend approval of the City Council
setting the public hearing date for March 21, 2022 to discuss this matter
further. Council action to set the public hearing date does not indicate
support for the project. Rather, it represents the Council’s willingness to
allow the public hearing process to continue.
RECOMMENDATION: Approve the motion.
