AGENDA ITEM:Consideration of approval of a Motion to set a Public Hearing Date of
April 4, 2022, as the date of public hearing on an ordinance to amend
Chapter 169, Zoning Ordinance, City of Waukee, Iowa, by rezoning
certain property from A-1 (Agricultural District) & R-1 / PD-1 (Single-
Family Residential District) to R-1 (Single-Family Residential District)

FORMAT:Motion
SYNOPSIS INCLUDING PRO & CON: Staff has received a request for rezoning of
approximately 2.61-acres of property from A-1 & R-1 / PD-1 to R-1. The
property is generally located east of S Warrior Lane and south of SE
University Avenue. The applicant has received the necessary consent of
property owners within 250-feet.
FISCAL IMPACT INCLUDING COST/BENEFIT ANALYSIS:
COMMISSION/BOARD/COMMITTEE COMMENT:
STAFF REVIEW AND COMMENT: Staff would recommend approval of the City Council
setting the public hearing date for April 4, 2022 to discuss this matter
further. Council action to set the public hearing date does not indicate
support for the project. Rather, it represents the Council’s willingness to
allow the public hearing process to continue.
RECOMMENDATION: Approve the motion.
