HomeMy WebLinkAboutWaukee Written and PAE Letter CENTRAL IOWA FIRE & EMS TESTING CONSORTIUM The City of Waukee Fire Department has partnered with the Central Iowa Fire & EMS Consortium for its written and physical entrance evaluations. WHAT YOU NEED TO DO: Please read all of the information below carefully and fully. WRITTEN EXAMINATION: The Central Iowa Fire and EMS Testing Consortium has partnered with Industrial Organizational Solutions, Inc. (IO Solutions) to provide the entry level written examination. The consortium will be utilizing the National Firefighter Selection Inventory (NFSI) exam. Industrial/Organizational Solutions, Inc. is a human resources consulting firm that specializes in personnel selection. The company develops, validates and implements entry-level and promotional tests and assessments. Applicants who have successfully completed this examination with a score of 70% or higher within the past 12 months can submit a copy of the test results by attaching them to your application or email to hr@waukee.org. Applicants who have not completed the examination will receive instructions via email on taking the examination.  This written examination will be an online examination offered at: DMACC Ankeny Testing Center 2006 S Ankeny Blvd Building 6, Room 23 Ankeny, IA  The National Firefighter Selection Inventory (NFSI) exam is a 155 question multiple choice examination. The applicant will be allowed 2 ½ hours to complete the examination.  There is a test fee and a DMACC fee to take the exam, which are both paid by credit card the day of the exam. *A government ID will be needed at the testing center.  You are required to create a login for the written exam at IO Solutions Site: https://iosolutions.com/membership-login/  This must be done prior to taking the exam at the DMACC Ankeny Testing Center. 1 of 2 Page Central Iowa Fire and EMS Testing Consortium  In addition, you must register to take the exam by: https://www.dmacc.edu/programs/fire/consortium/Pages/register.aspx  Applicants will be notified by email of the written evaluation results. Written exam preparation: Candidates are encouraged to prepare for the National Fire Selection Inventory evaluation. Industrial Organizational Solutions, Inc. offers online and print materials that will assist the candidate in preparing for the National Fire Selection Inventory. PHYSICAL ABILITY EVALUATION: Applicants are required to successfully complete a Physical Ability Evaluation (PAE). The following will meet the Physical Ability Evaluation requirement:  A CPAT (Candidate Physical Ability Test) certification completed within the previous 12 months shall be accepted in lieu of completing the physical ability evaluation. Submit a copy of this certification to your application or email hr@waukee.org  A Central Iowa Fire and EMS Testing Consortium certificate completed with the previous 12 months shall be accepted in lieu of completing the physical ability evaluation.
