AGENDA ITEM:Consideration of approval of a resolution awarding quote for Waukee City
Hall Wall Repair
FORMAT:Consent Agenda
SYNOPSIS INCLUDING PRO & CON: Over the winter, the city hall building was damaged by a
vehicle or piece of equipment. Staff has worked with our insurance provider,
a claims adjuster, and a general contractor to create a scope of work and repair
of the damaged area.
Edge Companies of Grimes, IA, has submitted for a proposal and contract for
the repair work. Estimated work approvals have been accepted by the City’s
insurance team.
FISCAL IMPACT INCLUDING COST/BENEFIT ANALYSIS:$7,105.00
COMMISSION/BOARD/COMMITTEE COMMENT:
STAFF REVIEW AND COMMENT: Award quote to Edge Companies of Grimes, IA, in the
amount of $7,105.00
RECOMMENDATION: Approve the resolution.

AWARDING QUOTE FOR WAUKEE CITY HALL WALL REPAIR
IN THE NAME AND BY THE AUTHORITY OF THE CITY OF WAUKEE, IOWA
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF WAUKEE, IOWA:
That the following quote for a certain project described in general as Waukee City Hall Wall
Repair is hereby accepted, the same being the lowest responsible quote received for such work,
as follows:
Contractor: Edge Companies of Grimes, IA
Amount of quote: $7,105.00
PASSED AND APPROVED this 21st day of March, 2022.

CONTRACT
THIS CONTRACT, made and entered into this, the 21 day of March , 2022, by and
between the City of Waukee, Iowa, party of the first part, hereinafter referred to as the
“Owner”, and
EDGE COMPANIES , party of the second
part, hereinafter referred to as the “Contractor”.
WITNESSETH: THAT WHEREAS, the Owner has heretofore completed a site visit and walk
thru sharing the known condition of the exterior wall assembly and requested a repair of
this wall to the pre impacted state. Scope of work includes; masonry repair, interior drywall
repair and painting of affected walls to the nearest corner.
WHEREAS, said specifications and proposal blanks accurately and fully describe the terms
and conditions upon which the Contractor is willing to perform the work specified:
NOW, THEREFORE IT IS AGREED:
1.That the Owner hereby accepts the proposal of the Contractor for the work as
follows:
Waukee City Hall Exterior Repair SE Corner
Repair of exterior masonry and drywall and paint repairs at SE corner of building,
adjacent to Council Chambers including all cleanup for the total of ($7,105) seven
thousand, one hundred five dollars.
2.That this contract consists of the following component parts which are made a part
of this agreement and contract as fully and absolutely as if they were set out in detail
in this contract:
2.1 Contract Documents, including:
2.1.1.1 Proposal updated 3-9-22 distributed to Mr. Keith Rash
2.1.1.2 Info from site walk
2.2 This Instrument.
2.3 The above components are complementary and whit is called for by one shall
be as binding as if called for by all.
3.That payments are to be made to the Contractor in accordance with and subject to
the provisions embodied in the documents made a part of this contract.
4.That this contract is executed in triplicate.
IN WITNESS WHEREOF, the parties hereto have hereunto set their hand and seals the date
first written above.
