AGENDA ITEM: CITY OF WAUKEE, IOWA CITY COUNCIL MEETING COMMUNICATION MEETING DATE: May 16, 2022 AGENDA ITEM:Consideration of approval of a resolution approving Non-Union, Skilled, Library, Police, Fire and Director Compensation Plans FORMAT:Consent Agenda SYNOPSIS INCLUDING PRO & CON: After review of wages of other nearby cities, new compensation plans for Non-Union, Skilled, Library, Police, Fire and Director employees have been prepared to reflect the recommended salary levels to be effective July 3, 2022. FISCAL IMPACT INCLUDING COST/BENEFIT ANALYSIS: The City Council recently approved the FY2022-2023 operating budget which anticipated salary increases for employees. COMMISSION/BOARD/COMMITTEE COMMENT: STAFF REVIEW AND COMMENT: Staff recommends approval of the Non-Union, Skilled, Library, Police, Fire and Director Compensation Plans. RECOMMENDATION: Approve the resolution. ATTACHMENTS: I. I1D THE CITY OF WAUKEE, IOWA RESOLUTION 2022- APPROVAL OF THE COMPENSATION PLANS FOR CITY OF WAUKEE NON- UNION, SKILLED, LIBRARY, POLICE, FIRE AND DIRECTOR EMPLOYEES IN THE NAME AND BY THE AUTHORITY OF THE CITY OF WAUKEE, IOWA WHEREAS, the City of Waukee, Dallas County, State of Iowa, is a duly organized Municipal Organization; AND, WHEREAS, the City of Waukee code section §110.4 the City shall annually review and approve proposed compensation for City employees whose positions are not represented by the City of Waukee collective bargaining unit; AND, WHEREAS, the City Administrator and Human Resources Director have reviewed and recommend approval of the compensation plans for the City of Waukee Non-Union, Skilled, Library, Police, Fire and Director; AND, WHEREAS, the funding to support these increases has been included in the City’s FY2022 - 2023 budget; AND; WHEREAS, the proposed compensation plan shall be effective July 3, 2022, and shall remain in effect until such time as a revised compensation plan is presented.
