AGENDA ITEM:Consideration of approval of Change Order No. 1 to Absolute Concrete
Construction, Inc. for the Warrior Lane Improvements – Phase 2 project
increasing the contract amount by $12,630.58.
FORMAT:Consent Agenda
SYNOPSIS INCLUDING PRO & CON: Change Order No. 1 is for additional chain link
fencing and gates. The chain link fencing planned for installation near the Waukee Community
School District baseball field is being expanded and changed to black vinyl-coated to coordinate
with an adjacent school district fence replacement project planned for later this year.
FISCAL IMPACT INCLUDING COST/BENEFIT ANALYSIS: The net result of this
Change Order increases the contract price in the amount of $12,630.58.

Warrior Lane Improvements - Phase 2
Dear Mr. Koester:
Please find attached Change Order #1 for the Warrior Lane Improvements - Phase 2 project. The
change order includes the following items:
• Additional Chain Link Fencing and Gates
The chain link fencing planned for installation near the Waukee Community School District baseball field
is being expanded and changed to black vinyl-coated to coordinate with an adjacent school district
fence replacement project planned for later this year.
We have reviewed the change order items and unit prices, and both are in line with anticipated
amounts. If City staff concurs with this change, we recommend the City of Waukee approve this change
order in the amount of $12,630.58 to the construction contract for the Warrior Lane Improvements –
Phase 2 with Absolute Concrete Construction, Inc. of Slater, IA.

THE CONTRACT IS CHANGED AS FOLLOWS:
Items 103 and 104 are being removed from the contract and replaced with Change Order Items CO-1.1 and CO-1.2.
Item 105 is being increased in quantity to match additional length of new fence installation as identified in Plan Change #2.
Change Order Item CO-1.1 is for chain link fencing near the Waukee School District baseball field, replacing Item 103 with increased length as identified in Plan Change #2 and with
a material change to black vinyl-coated complying with SUDAS Section 9060.
Change Order Item CO-1.2 is for chain link gates near the Waukee School District baseball field, replacing Item 104 with increased quantity as identified in Plan Change #2 and with
a material change to black vinyl-coated complying with SUDAS Section 9060.
