HomeMy WebLinkAbout2022-05-16 I01J_01 Petersen Townhomes Rezoning_Set PH AGENDA ITEM: CITY OF WAUKEE, IOWA CITY COUNCIL MEETING COMMUNICATION MEETING DATE: May 16, 2022 AGENDA ITEM: Consideration of approval of a Motion to set a Public Hearing Date of June 20, 2022, as the date of public hearing on an ordinance to amend Chapter 169, Zoning Ordinance, City of Waukee, Iowa, by rezoning certain property from R-2 (One and Two-Family Residential District) / PD-1 (Planned Development Overlay) and R-4 (Row Dwelling & Townhome District) / PD-1 (Planned Development Overlay) to R-4 (Row Dwelling & Townhome District) / PD-1 (Planned Development Overlay) [Petersen Townhomes] FORMAT: Motion SYNOPSIS INCLUDING PRO & CON: Staff has received a request for rezoning of approximately 21-acres of property from R-2/PD-1 and R-4/PD-1 to R- 4/PD-1. The property is generally located west of NW 10th Street and south of NW Douglas Parkway. The applicant has received the necessary consent from property owners within 250-feet. FISCAL IMPACT INCLUDING COST/BENEFIT ANALYSIS: COMMISSION/BOARD/COMMITTEE COMMENT: STAFF REVIEW AND COMMENT: Staff would recommend approval of the City Council setting the public hearing date for June 20, 2022, to discuss this matter further. Council action to set the public hearing date does not indicate support for the project. Rather, it represents the Council’s willingness to allow the public hearing process to continue.
