AGENDA ITEM:Consideration of approval of an ordinance to amend Chapter 68, Parking
Regulations, City of Waukee, Iowa, by amending Section 68.09, No Parking
Zones [second, third (final) readings]
FORMAT:Ordinance
SYNOPSIS INCLUDING PRO & CON: The streets being added to Chapter 68.09 No Parking
Zones are from new developments and some clean up in the Southfork neighborhood.
FISCAL IMPACT INCLUDING COST/BENEFIT ANALYSIS:
COMMISSION/BOARD/COMMITTEE COMMENT:
STAFF REVIEW AND COMMENT: As there have been no public comments in opposition on the
proposed ordinance, City staff recommend approval of the second reading of
the ordinance in title only and waiver of the third reading. The Code of Iowa
requires a vote of not less than three-fourths of all the members of the Council
(or four out of five in Waukee’s case) in order to waive readings of an
ordinance.
RECOMMENDATION: Approve the second reading of the ordinance in title only, waive the third
reading and place the ordinance on final passage.

AN ORDINANCE TO AMEND CHAPTER 68, PARKING REGULATIONS, CITY OF
WAUKEE, IOWA, BY AMENDING SECTION 68.09, NO PARKING ZONES, AS
SPECIFIED BELOW
WHEREAS, the City of Waukee has determined that certain public streets should be added
to the no parking zones ordinance.
BE IT THEREFORE ORDAINED by the City Council of the City of Waukee:
Section 1. Chapter 68, Waukee Municipal Code, Traffic Regulations, Section 68.09 is hereby
amended by adding the following streets as follows:
§68.09 (2) East Side of North-South Streets.No parking is permitted at any time on
the east side of the following north-south streets:
Add the following street names to the 68.09 (2) section:
SE Laurel Street
NW Brooks Drive
NW Alderleaf Drive
NW Concord Lane
NW Prairie Rose Lane
Durham Road
Worchester Drive
Crescent Ridge Drive
Sunflower Drive
SE Southfork Drive from SE Walnut Ridge Drive to SE Northbranch Drive
§68.09 (3) West Side of North-South Streets.No parking is permitted at any time on
the west side of the following north-south streets:
Add the following street names to the 68.09 (3) section:
NW Red Oak Drive
Bel Aire Court
SE Southfork Drive from SE Walnut Ridge Drive to the shared property line of
685/695 SE Southfork Drive
§68.09 (5) North Side of East-West Streets. No parking is permitted at any time,
except as otherwise noted, on the north side of the following streets:
Add the following street names to the 68.09 (5) section:
NW Red Oak Court
NW Red Oak Drive
NW Ashley Circle
NW Ashley Avenue

Waukee Avenue from Warrior Lane to 6th Street
SE Southfork Drive from SE Northbranch Drive to the shared property line of
685/695 SE Southfork Drive
Section 2. Repealer. All ordinances or parts of ordinances in conflict with the provisions of
this ordinance are hereby repealed.
Section 3. Severability Clause. If any section, provision or part of this ordinance shall be
adjudged invalid or unconstitutional, such adjudication shall not affect the validity of the ordinance
as a whole or any section, provision, or part thereof not adjudged invalid or unconstitutional.
Section 4. Effective Date. This ordinance shall be in effect upon its final passage, approval
and publication as provided by law.
