STAFF REVIEW AND COMMENT: Veenstra & Kimm, Inc. has reviewed the public
improvements for Transite Water Main Replacement – Phase 2 and find it in general conformance
with the standard specifications for the City of Waukee.
RECOMMENDATION: Approve the resolution.

RESOLUTION 2022-
RESOLUTION ACCEPTING THE TRANSITE WATER MAIN
REPLACEMENT - PHASE 2
WHEREAS, on the 21st day of June, 2021, the Mayor and Clerk of the City of Waukee,
Iowa, entered into a construction contract with Busy Bee Construction, LLC, of Lewiston, MO,
for the construction of certain public improvements generally described as the Transite Water Main
Replacement - Phase 2; and
WHEREAS, the contractor has fully completed the construction of the public
improvements in accordance with the terms and conditions of the contract and plans and
specifications, as shown by the certificate of the Engineer filed with the Clerk on May 31, 2022:
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
WAUKEE, STATE OF IOWA:
Section 1.That the report of the Engineer be and the same is hereby approved and adopted,
and the public improvements are hereby approved and accepted as having been fully completed in
accordance with the plans, specifications and form of contract and the total final construction cost
thereof is hereby determined to be $444,671.46, as shown in the report of the Engineer.
