AGENDA ITEM:Consideration of approval of Change Order No. 2 to NPL Construction
Co. for the 170th Street Transmission Line Relocation Phase 2 Project
increasing the contract amount by $12,500.00.
FORMAT:Consent Agenda
SYNOPSIS INCLUDING PRO & CON: Change Order No. 2 is to adjust fuel costs and
additional mobilization to complete project. The relocation project was suspended as Waukee’s
project could not be completed until road closure of 170th St north of Meredith. The road closure
was delayed due to land acquisition and other utility relocations.
FISCAL IMPACT INCLUDING COST/BENEFIT ANALYSIS: The net result of this
Change Order increases the contract price in the amount of $12,500.00.

RECOMMENDATION: Approve the change order.

RE: 170th Street Transmission Line Relocation Phase 2 – Change Order #2
Dear Mr. Royer,
NPL Construction Co. has requested a change order for the unanticipated rise in fuel cost and additional
mobilization to the project to lower the final section of gas main.
USDI has reviewed the attached change order dated June 1, 2022 and recommend it be approved. The
total additional amount NPL Construction Co. is requesting is $12,500.00.
