AGENDA ITEM:Consideration of approval of a resolution ratifying, confirming, and approving
the change in date for submission of bids and for public hearing on plans,
specifications, form of contract and estimate of costs [U.S. 6 (Hickman Road)
& Berkshire Parkway/SE Waco Place Intersection Improvements Project]

SYNOPSIS INCLUDING PRO & CON: The bid opening, adopting the plans and specs and
awarding the contract for the U.S. 6 (Hickman Road) & Berkshire Parkway/SE Waco Place
Intersection Improvements Project were postponed due to the notice to bidders not being timely posted
by the City of Clive.

RESOLUTION 2022-
RESOLUTION RATIFYING, CONFIRMING, AND APPROVING THE
CHANGE IN DATES FOR SUBMISSION OF BIDS AND FOR PUBLIC
HEARING ON PLANS, SPECIFICATIONS, FORM OF CONTRACT AND
ESTIMATE OF COSTS FOR THE HICKMAN ROAD (US 6) & BERKSHIRE
PKWY/SE WACO PL INTERSECTION PROJECT
WHEREAS, on June 6, 2022, the Council adopted a Resolution ordering construction of
the Hickman Road (US 6) & Berkshire Pkwy/SE Waco Pl Intersection Project, a joint project
with the City of Clive; and
WHEREAS, pursuant to said Resolution, the actions of the Clive City Clerk in posting
notice to bidders not less than thirteen clear days nor more than forty-five days prior to June 15,
2022, the date fixed for receiving bids was ratified, confirmed and approved; and
WHEREAS, for reasons outside the control of the City, the scheduled bid letting date
needed to be postponed; and
WHEREAS, it is necessary to ratify, confirm, and approve the change in the dates for
submission of bids and for public hearing on the plans, specifications, form of contract and
estimate of cost, and the actions of the Clive City Clerk in posting a revised notice thereof.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF WAUKEE, IOWA:
Section 1. That the actions of the City of Clive in changing the time and date for the
receipt of bids to before 2:00 P.M. on July 20, 2022 is hereby ratified, confirmed, and approved.
Section 2. That the actions in changing the time and date for the public hearing on the
plans, specifications, form of contract and estimate of cost to August 1, 2022 is hereby ratified,
confirmed, and approved.
Section 3. That the actions of the City Clerk of the City of Waukee in posting the Notice
to Bidders on an internet site sponsored by either the City or a statewide association that
represents the City not less than thirteen clear days nor more than forty-five days prior to July 20,
2022 is hereby ratified, confirmed, and approved.
Section 4. That the actions of the City Clerk of the City of Clive in posting a Notice to
Bidders once in a relevant contractor plan room service with statewide circulation and a relevant
construction lead generating service with statewide circulation, not less than thirteen clear days
nor more than forty-five days prior to July 20, 2022 is hereby ratified, confirmed, and approved.
