AGENDA ITEM: Consideration of approval of a resolution approving Amendment No. 1 to
Agreement for Professional Consulting Services with OPN Architects
[Waukee City Hall Renovation and Security Upgrades Project]
FORMAT: Resolution
SYNOPSIS INCLUDING PRO & CON: The City Council approved the original Professional
Consulting Services Agreement with OPN Architects in March 2022 for
safety and security upgrades related to the City Hall facility. As a part of the
proposal, there were optional additional services that could be considered at a
later date related to cost estimating prior to bids being taken.
With the volatile public bidding climate at this time, staff is recommending
that the additional cost estimating be completed prior to the project going out
for bid.
FISCAL IMPACT INCLUDING COST/BENEFIT ANALYSIS: $1,690.00

RESOLUTION 22-
APPROVING AMENDMENT NO. 1 TO AGREEMENT FOR PROFESSIONAL
CONSULTING SERVICES WITH OPN ARCHITECTS [WAUKEE CITY HALL
RENOVATION AND SECURITY UPGRADES PROJECT]
IN THE NAME AND BY THE AUTHORITY OF THE CITY OF WAUKEE, IOWA
WHEREAS, the City of Waukee, Dallas County, State of Iowa, is a duly organized Municipal
Organization; AND,
WHEREAS, the City retained the services of OPN Architects, related to the design development
and construction and bid administration for the Waukee City Hall Renovation and Security
Upgrades Project; AND,
WHEREAS, Amendment No. 1 relates to additional services for cost estimating;
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Waukee that the
Amendment No. 1 to Agreement for Professional Consulting Services with OPN Architects
[Waukee City Hall Renovation and Security Upgrades Project] is hereby approved.
Passed by the City Council of the City of Waukee, Iowa, and approved the 5th day of July 2022.
