AGENDA ITEM:Consideration of approval of an ordinance to amend Chapter 68, Parking
Regulations, City of Waukee, Iowa, by amending Section 68.04, Angle
Parking [Introduction, First Reading]
FORMAT:Ordinance
SYNOPSIS INCLUDING PRO & CON: The Waukee Community School District staff has
requested removal of 17 of the 32 on street angled parking stalls on the west side of 4th Street adjacent
to the Vince Meyer Learning Center. 15 angled parking stalls will remain. This proposal will extend
the queueing capacity of the current bus loading zone and parent loading zones on 4th Street. This
change will reduce (but not eliminate) the current traffic congestion occurring during the morning and
afternoon drop off and up times.

ORDINANCE NO.
AN ORDINANCE TO AMEND CHAPTER 68, PARKING REGULATIONS, CITY OF
WAUKEE, IOWA, BY AMENDING SECTION 68.04, ANGLE PARKING, AS
SPECIFIED BELOW
WHEREAS, the City of Waukee has determined that amendments to certain public streets
should be added to the no parking zones ordinance.
BE IT THEREFORE ORDAINED by the City Council of the City of Waukee:
Section 1. Chapter 68, Waukee Municipal Code, Traffic Regulations, Section 68.04,
subsection 2. to hereby repeal and replace the following angle parking subsection as follows:
§68.04 Angle or diagonal parking is permitted only in the following locations:
2. On the west side of 4th Street, from a point 645 feet south of the centerline of
Ashworth Drive to a point 820 feet south of the centerline of Ashworth Drive.
Section 2. Repealer. All ordinances or parts of ordinances in conflict with the provisions of
this ordinance are hereby repealed.
Section 3. Severability Clause. If any section, provision or part of this ordinance shall be
adjudged invalid or unconstitutional, such adjudication shall not affect the validity of the ordinance
as a whole or any section, provision, or part thereof not adjudged invalid or unconstitutional.
Section 4. Effective Date. This ordinance shall be in effect upon its final passage, approval
and publication as provided by law.
