SYNOPSIS INCLUDING PRO & CON:This project includes all materials, labor and
equipment necessary for the construction of the NW Douglas Parkway – Grade, Partial Pave and
JUT Project located from 1,200-feet west of N Warrior Lane to N. Warrior Lane, 3/4 -mile North
of U.S. Highway 6 (Hickman Rd). Work includes grading, PCC paving, storm sewer, water main,
subdrain, pavement markings, signing, and associated work. The project also includes installation
of a Joint Utility Trench (JUT) along NW Douglas Parkway between NW 2nd Street and N.
Warrior Lane and along NW 2nd Street from NW Douglas Parkway to approximately 850-feet
south.
This project is included in the approved FY 2023-2027 Capital Improvements Plan with a total
project budget of $2.175M. All work on the project shall be completed by August 4, 2023.

NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING
NW DOUGLAS PARKWAY – GRADE, PARTIAL PAVE AND JUT
The City Council of Waukee, Iowa, will hold a public hearing on the proposed Plans,
Specifications, Form of Contract and Estimate of Costs for the construction of the above
referenced public improvements at 5:30 p.m. on July 18, 2022 at the Council Chamber in City
Hall, 230 West Hickman Road, Waukee, Iowa 50263. At said hearing, any interested person may
appear and file objections thereto or to the cost of the improvements.
This project includes the furnishing of all labor, equipment, and materials for the construction of
the NW DOUGLAS PARKWAY – GRADE, PARTIAL PAVE AND JUT PROJECT
LOCATED FROM 1,200-FEET WEST OF N. WARRIOR LANE TO N. WARRIOR
LANE, ¾-MILE NORTH OF U.S. HIGHWAY 6 (HICKMAN ROAD), generally described
as follows:
DESCRIPTION OF PUBLIC IMPROVEMENTS
Construction of NW Douglas Parkway from 1,200-feet west of N. Warrior Lane to
N. Warrior Lane. Roadway work includes grading, PCC paving, storm sewer, water
main, subdrain, pavement markings, signing, and associated work. The project
also includes installation of a Joint Utility Trench (JUT) along NW Douglas
Parkway between NW 2nd Street and N. Warrior Lane and along NW 2nd Street
from NW Douglas Parkway to approximately 850-feet south.
Due to public health concerns and guidance, in accordance with Iowa Code Sections 21.4(1)(b)
and 21.8, this meeting of the Waukee City Council will be conducted with two different options
for public participation: 1) Members of the public wishing to attend in person may do so in the
Council Chambers at Waukee City Hall. 2) Members of the public wishing to participate

In-person meetings are subject to change under certain circumstances, including but not limited
