FORMAT:Consent Agenda
SYNOPSIS INCLUDING PRO & CON: J & K Contracting, LLC has completed the project and is
requesting partial early release of retainage per Iowa Code Section 573.28. Veenstra & Kimm recommend
release of 80% of the retainage. Lien waivers have been received. One outstanding grading item remains
on the punch list to be completed before final acceptance of the project will occur.

LITTLE WALNUT CREEK NORTH TRUNK SEWER EXTENSION - PHASE 2
EARLY RELEASE OF RETAINAGE
J & K Contracting, LLC is requesting early partial release of the retainage on the Little Walnut
Creek North Trunk Sewer Extension – Phase 2 project. Enclosed is the sworn statement notice
from J & K Contracting, LLC as required by Iowa Code Section 573.28.
We recommend release of 80% of the retainage for the Little Walnut Creek North Trunk Sewer
Extension – Phase 2 by the City Council of the City of Waukee to J & K Contracting, LLC. The
partial retainage is in the amount of $32,832.00.
We also recommend that the remaining 20% of the retainage in the amount of $8,208.00 be
released 30 days after acceptance of the work by the City of Waukee.
