AGENDA ITEM: Consideration of approval of a Motion to set a Public Hearing Date of
September 19, 2022, as the date of public hearing on an ordinance to
amend Chapter 169, Zoning Ordinance, City of Waukee, Iowa, by
rezoning certain property from C-4 (Office Park Commercial District),
R-3 (Multi-Family Residential District), and R-4 (Row Dwelling &
Townhome District) to K-RR (Kettlestone Retail Regional District) K-
MF-Stacked High (Kettlestone Multi-Family Stacked High District)

FORMAT: Motion
SYNOPSIS INCLUDING PRO & CON: Staff has received a request for rezoning of
approximately 97-acres of property from C-4, R-3, and R-4 to K-MF-
Stacked High and K-RR. The property is generally located south of SE
Pleasant View Drive and east of Grand Prairie Parkway The applicant
has received the necessary consent from property owners within 250-
feet.
FISCAL IMPACT INCLUDING COST/BENEFIT ANALYSIS:
COMMISSION/BOARD/COMMITTEE COMMENT:
STAFF REVIEW AND COMMENT: Staff would recommend approval of the City Council
setting the public hearing date for September 19, 2022, to discuss this
matter further. Council action to set the public hearing date does not
indicate support for the project. Rather, it represents the Council’s
willingness to allow the public hearing process to continue.
RECOMMENDATION: Approve the motion.
