SYNOPSIS INCLUDING PRO & CON: It has been determined that there is a need for
additional security upgrades to Waukee City Hall. The proposed project
includes a remodel of the front lobby area to create a more secure
environment for the Utility Billing staff, the addition of secured doors
into the office suites of the building and the installation of a camera
system to provide better visibility of visitors entering the building to do
business or to attend a meeting.

NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING
NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING ON PLANS AND SPECIFICATIONS, PROPOSED FORM OF CONTRACT
AND ESTIMATE OF COST FOR CONSTRUCTION OF THE WAUKEE CITY HALL SECURITY UPGRADES
FOR THE CITY OF WAUKEE, IOWA.
The City Council of Waukee, Iowa, will hold a public hearing on the proposed Plans,
Specifications, Form of Contract and Estimate of Costs for the construction of the above
referenced public improvements at 5:30 P.M. on September 6th, 2022. At said hearing, any
interested person may appear and file objections thereto or to the cost of the improvements.
The work to be done is as follows:
WAUKEE CITY HALL SECURITY UPGRADES
Construct Waukee City Hall security upgrades including all labor, materials and
equipment necessary for demolition, repairs, door access and privacy control rough-in,
new finish work, and miscellaneous associated work, including cleaning, testing and
cleanup.
The Waukee City Hall security upgrades will be located within the existing Waukee City Hall,
located at 230 Hickman Road, in Waukee.
Due to public health concerns and guidance, in accordance with Iowa Code Sections 21.4(1)(b)
and 21.8, this meeting of the Waukee City Council will be conducted with two different options
for public participation: 1) Members of the public wishing to attend in person may do so in the
Council Chambers at Waukee City Hall. 2) Members of the public wishing to participate

In-person meetings are subject to change under certain circumstances, including but not
