STAFF REVIEW AND COMMENT: Shive-Hattery, Inc. has reviewed the public improvements for
the Waukee Public Library Stormwater Improvements Project and find it in general conformance with
the standard specifications for the City of Waukee.
RECOMMENDATION: Approve the resolution.

RESOLUTION ACCEPTING THE WAUKEE PUBLIC
LIBRARY STORMWATER IMPROVEMENTS - SRF
SPONSORED PROJECT
WHEREAS, on the 4th day of May, 2020, the Mayor and Clerk of the City of Waukee,
Iowa, entered into a construction contract with Elder Corporation of Des Moines, IA, for the
construction of certain public improvements generally described as the Waukee Public Library
Stormwater Improvements - SRF Sponsored Project; and
WHEREAS, the contractor has fully completed the construction of the public
improvements in accordance with the terms and conditions of the contract and plans and
specifications, as shown by the certificate of the Engineer filed with the Clerk on September 13,
2022:
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
WAUKEE, STATE OF IOWA:
Section 1.That the report of the Engineer be and the same is hereby approved and adopted,
and the public improvements are hereby approved and accepted as having been fully completed in
accordance with the plans, specifications and form of contract and the total final construction cost
thereof is hereby determined to be $2,183,109.90, as shown in the report of the Engineer.

We hereby certify that we have made an on-site review of
the construction of the Waukee Public Library Stormwater
Improvements as performed by Elder Corporation.
As Engineers for the project, it is our opinion that the work
performed is in substantial accordance with the plans and
specifications and that the final amount of the Contract is
two million, one hundred eighty-three thousand, one
hundred nine dollars and ninety cents. ($2,183,109.90).
