HomeMy WebLinkAbout2022-11-07 J08B Triumph Park_Partial Release of RetainageAGENDA ITEM: CITY OF WAUKEE, IOWA CITY COUNCIL MEETING COMMUNICATION MEETING DATE: November 7, 2022 AGENDA ITEM:Consideration of approval of Payment Estimate No. 22 (partial release of retainage) to Larson Construction, Co., Inc., for the Triumph Park Project in the amount of $482,852.47. FORMAT:Motion SYNOPSIS INCLUDING PRO & CON: Payment Estimate No. 22 to Larson Construction, Co., Inc., is for partial release of retainage. Design team and City staff feel it is appropriate to release the partial retainage based on the punch list items that are left. We will continue to retain 2.5% retainage ($482,852.47) and will be released upon completion of the remaining punch list items. Lien waivers, letter notifying sub-contractors of their request, and a notification from the bond company have been received by city staff. FISCAL IMPACT INCLUDING COST/BENEFIT ANALYSIS: COMMISSION/BOARD/COMMITTEE COMMENT: STAFF REVIEW AND COMMENT: Approve Payment RECOMMENDATION: Approve the resolution. ATTACHMENTS: I. This is a partial release of retainage that we feel is appropriate at this time. All Lien Waivers have been received by the City of Waukee. Punch list work is continuing but we are still with holding 2.5% retainage ($482,852.47) and agree that the withheld amount is appropriate for this stage of the project. We do anticipate an upcoming payment application later this month to account for all the final agreed upon change orders dating back to January of 2022.
