HomeMy WebLinkAbout2023-01-16 G03 NE Outfall Sewer_PHAGENDA ITEM: CITY OF WAUKEE, IOWA CITY COUNCIL MEETING COMMUNICATION MEETING DATE: January 16, 2023 AGENDA ITEM:Consideration of approval of a resolution ordering construction of the NE Outfall Sewer project and fixing a date for hearing thereon and taking bids therefor FORMAT:Public Hearing SYNOPSIS INCLUDING PRO & CON: The project includes furnishing of labor, materials, and equipment necessary for approximately 18,600 linear feet of 8-inch through 36-inch diameter sanitary sewer installed in open cut and trenchless construction, manholes, excavation and backfill, lift station demolition, removal and replacement of PCC trail, subdrain, surface restoration, and miscellaneous associated work, including cleanup. This project is part of the draft FY 2024-28 CIP with a total project budget of $13.15M. Project has several interim completion dates and they are as follows: The interim completion date with the sanitary sewer fully installed and tested and site restored with seeding in place between Sta. 72+80 and Sta. 105+00 is August 31, 2023. The interim completion date with the sanitary sewer fully installed and tested and site restored with seeding in place between Sta. 105+00 and Sta. 179+85 is February 29, 2024. The interim completion date with the sanitary sewer fully installed and tested and site restored with seeding in place between Sta. 1+00 and Sta. 185+49 is September 30, 2024. All work on the project shall be completed by May 20, 2025. The City Council of Waukee, Iowa, will hold a public hearing on the proposed Plans, Specifications, Form of Contract and Estimate of Costs for the construction of the above referenced public improvements at 5:30 P.M. on January 16, 2023. At said hearing, any interested person may appear and file objections thereto or to the cost of the improvements. The work to be done is as follows: NORTHEAST OUTFALL SEWER Construct Northeast Outfall Sewer including all labor, materials and equipment necessary for approximately 18,600 linear feet 8-inch through 36-inch diameter sanitary sewer installed in open cut and trenchless construction, manholes, excavation and backfill, lift station demolition, removal and replacement of PCC trail, subdrain, surface restoration, and miscellaneous associated work, including cleanup. The Northeast Outfall Sewer will be located along Little Walnut Creek between approximately N Warrior Lane in Waukee and 144th Street in Urbandale.
