AGENDA ITEM:Consideration of approval of a motion setting February 21, 2023, as the
date of public hearing on a proposed property tax levy pursuant to Iowa
Code 384.15A
FORMAT:Consent Agenda
SYNOPSIS INCLUDING PRO & CON: Iowa Code 384.15A requires a separate public
hearing to notify the public of the intent to exceed 102% of the FY22
property tax revenue collection for the upcoming FY23 budget year.

COMMISSION/BOARD/COMMITTEE COMMENT:
STAFF REVIEW AND COMMENT: On January 16, the Waukee City Council set March 6,
2023, as the date of public hearing on a proposed property tax levy. The
Iowa Department of Management has since recommended that the
property tax levy hearing be held in advance of the public hearing on the
City budget.
RECOMMENDATION: Approve the motion.
