SYNOPSIS INCLUDING PRO & CON: The project includes furnishing of labor, materials,
and equipment necessary for construction of an HMA overlay on Ashworth Drive from 4th Street
to 10th Street. Project items include curb and gutter replacement, ADA curb ramp construction,
patching, traffic control, and sodding. Specific project location along with the kind and approximate
quantity of materials to be used shall be as set forth in the Plans and Specifications.
This project is part of the approved FY 2023-27 CIP and draft FY 2024-28 CIP with a total project
budget of $600,000 ($300,000 from each FY). Project has a completion date of August 18, 2023.

2023 ASPHALT OVERLAY IMPROVEMENTS: ASHWORTH DRIVE FROM 4TH TO
10TH STREET
The City Council of Waukee, Iowa, will hold a public hearing on the proposed Plans,
Specifications, Form of Contract and Estimate of Costs for the construction of the above
referenced public improvements at 5:30 p.m. on February 6, 2023, at the Council Chamber in
City Hall, 230 West Hickman Road, Waukee, Iowa 50263. At said hearing, any interested
person may appear and file objections thereto or to the cost of the improvements.
This project includes the furnishing of all labor, equipment, and materials for the construction of
the 2023 ASPHALT OVERLAY IMPROVEMENTS: ASHWORTH DRIVE FROM 4TH
TO 10TH STREET, WAUKEE, IOWA, generally described as follows:
Construction of an HMA overlay on Ashworth Drive, from 4th Street to 10th Street. Project
items include curb and gutter replacement, ADA curb ramp construction, patching, traffic
control, and sodding. Specific project location along with the kind and approximate
quantity of materials to be used shall be as set forth in the Plans and Specifications.
Due to public health concerns and guidance, in accordance with Iowa Code Sections 21.4(1)(b)
and 21.8, this meeting of the Waukee City Council will be conducted with two different options
for public participation: 1) Members of the public wishing to attend in person may do so in the
Council Chambers at Waukee City Hall. 2) Members of the public wishing to participate
