FORMAT:Consent Agenda SYNOPSIS INCLUDING PRO & CON: Staff is requesting early approval so that the rates can coincide with our March 1st registration start date for Spring/Summer Programming. Staff is proposing rate increases to ball field and facility rental rates after reviewing increasing costs for operations and staffing. Staff has also researched neighboring metro community’s rental rates and found that Waukee facilities will continue to be an affordable option after increasing rental rates. FISCAL IMPACT INCLUDING COST/BENEFIT ANALYSIS: COMMISSION/BOARD/COMMITTEE COMMENT: Parks Board has reviewed and approved the proposed rates & fees. Centennial Park Enclosed, Centennial Park Open and Windfield Park Open Shelters are available to be rented April 1 through October 31 beginning March 1 for weekday rentals. Reservations for weekends can be made online 180 days in advance of the desired reservation date. Facility rental refunds may be issued for reservations only when cancelations are made 10 business days prior to the date of the reservation. There will be a $10 cancelation fee for any rental facility refund. Cancelations made later than 10 business days prior to the date of the reservation will result in forfeiture of the rental payment. Non-Profit Group Usage: Non-Profit Groups will be allowed to reserve the community center for free, two dates each month, Monday through Thursday for a maximum of two hours per use. Any usage outside the Monday through Thursday timeline or the hourly maximum will be subject to the following rental rates listed above. Reservations for this year-round facility can be made 180 days in advance of the desired reservation date. Online reservations for Friday through Sunday are available. Teams are allowed one hour of practice time per week (M-F). Weekend time slots will be open for one additional hour. Available fields include: Centennial Park Fields 1-3 and Warrior Park Fields 4-7. Reservations will only be accepted online at www.Waukee.org/reservations, starting at 10 a.m. on the online reservation date listed. Field users must complete the team form one time per year prior to making reservations. The reservation system will be split into two seasons, first season will run from March 13 – July 2, and second season will run from July 3 – October 31. The cost will be $100/season which can be paid online. Baseball portable mounds will be placed by Triumph Park staff.
