HomeMy WebLinkAbout2023-02-21 I01D Street ROW Maintenance 2023_Award QuoteAGENDA ITEM: CITY OF WAUKEE, IOWA CITY COUNCIL MEETING COMMUNICATION MEETING DATE: February 21, 2023 AGENDA ITEM:Consideration of approval of a resolution awarding quote for Street Median Landscape Maintenance FORMAT:Resolution SYNOPSIS INCLUDING PRO & CON: The project consists of median maintenance for medians located on University Avenue from Ashworth to Waco, medians on Waco, medians on Brick, medians along Alice’s Road from University to Hickman Road, five sign beds on Alice’s Road, the medians on the East and West side of the intersection of Warrior and Windfield Parkway, medians along Legacy Pointe Boulevard, the green space along Hickman Road in front of Earl May, the medians on Hickman Road from SE Waco Place to just west of 10th Street, right of way on 10th St. from Laurel to Northview (east side), right of way on NW 10th St., and NW Sunrise Dr. from 10th St. to the roundabout (including the roundabout).The contract includes right-of-way turf maintenance & mulch. Information packets were sent out to all previous bidders and two additional lawn care companies for a total of 4 packets. The quote opening took place on Monday, February 6 at 2:00 p.m. One quote was received. The quote received is as follows: 1. #1 Lawn Care (Des Moines, IA) $30,204.00 FISCAL IMPACT INCLUDING COST/BENEFIT ANALYSIS:$30,204.00 COMMISSION/BOARD/COMMITTEE COMMENT: STAFF REVIEW AND COMMENT: City staff has reviewed the bids and recommend awarding the quote to #1 Lawn Care (Des Moines, IA). Staff has met with the contractor to go over the expectations and feel that the company will be able to meet the expectations of the City of Waukee. #1 Lawn Care held the contract in 2019, 2020, 2021 & 2022.
