STAFF REVIEW AND COMMENT: City and Consultant staff has reviewed the public
improvements for the Traffic Signal Enhancement Project, Detection Upgrades and find it in general
conformance with the approved construction drawings and specifications for the City of Waukee.
RECOMMENDATION: Approve the resolution.

RESOLUTION 2023-
RESOLUTION ACCEPTING THE TRAFFIC SIGNAL SYSTEM
ENHANCEMENTS
WHEREAS, on the 1st day of June, 2020, the Mayor and Clerk of the City of Waukee,
Iowa, entered into a construction contract with Iowa Signal, Inc., of Grimes, IA, for the
construction of certain public improvements generally described as the Traffic Signal System
Enhancements; and
WHEREAS, the contractor has fully completed the construction of the public
improvements in accordance with the terms and conditions of the contract and plans and
specifications, as shown by the certificate of the Engineer filed with the Clerk on February 6, 2023:
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
WAUKEE, STATE OF IOWA:
Section 1.That the report of the Engineer be and the same is hereby approved and adopted,
and the public improvements are hereby approved and accepted as having been fully completed in
accordance with the plans, specifications and form of contract and the total final construction cost
thereof is hereby determined to be $594,016.00, as shown in the report of the Engineer.

We hereby certify that we have made an on-site review of the completed construction of the above
referenced project as performed by Iowa Signal, Inc.
It is our opinion that the work is in substantial accordance with the plans and specification and that
the final amount of the contract is Five Hu ndred Ninety Four Thousand Sixteen Dollars
($594,016.00).
