HomeMy WebLinkAbout2023-03-20 I01F_06 Waukee Towne Center Rezoning_Set PH AGENDA ITEM: CITY OF WAUKEE, IOWA CITY COUNCIL MEETING COMMUNICATION MEETING DATE: March 20, 2023 AGENDA ITEM: Consideration of approval of a Motion to set a Public Hearing Date of April 17, 2023, as the date of public hearing on an ordinance to amend Chapter 169, Zoning Ordinance, City of Waukee, Iowa, by rezoning certain property from C-1A (Neighborhood Commercial District)/ PD-1 (Planned Development Overlay) to C-1 (Community and Highway Service Commercial District)/ PD-1 (Planned Development District) [Waukee Towne Center] FORMAT: Motion SYNOPSIS INCLUDING PRO & CON: Staff has received a request for rezoning of approximately 1.19-acres of property from C-1A/PD-1 to C-1/PD-1. This property was previously not included in the rezonings for the overall Waukee Towne Center development. This request will make the zoning of this property consistent with the surrounding properties within the overall development. The property is generally located north of SE Laurel St and west of SE Alice’s Road. FISCAL IMPACT INCLUDING COST/BENEFIT ANALYSIS: COMMISSION/BOARD/COMMITTEE COMMENT: STAFF REVIEW AND COMMENT: Staff would recommend approval of the City Council setting the public hearing date for April 17, 2023, to discuss this matter further. Council action to set the public hearing date does not indicate support for the project. Rather, it represents the Council’s willingness to allow the public hearing process to continue. RECOMMENDATION: Approve the motion. ATTACHMENTS: I.
