AGENDA ITEM:On the issuance of Bonds or Capital Loan Notes to evidence the
obligation of the City thereunder [Not to Exceed $35,000,000 General
Obligation Urban Renewal Bonds or Capital Loan Notes (UR)

SYNOPSIS INCLUDING PRO & CON: The proposed General Obligation Urban Renewal
Bonds or Capital Loan Notes will be used for essential corporate urban
renewal purposes including the costs of aiding in the planning,
undertaking and carrying out of urban renewal projects under the
authority of Iowa Code chapter 403 and the Urban Renewal Plan, as
amended, for the Waukee Consolidated Urban Renewal Area, including
the construction, improvement, and equipping of a public safety facility,
including fire and police services necessary to protect and serve the
commercial and industrial development within the urban renewal area,
with related utility and site improvements, and acquisition of real estate.
FISCAL IMPACT INCLUDING COST/BENEFIT ANALYSIS: Not to exceed $35,000,000

NOTICE OF MEETING OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF WAUKEE, STATE OF IOWA, ON THE MATTER OF
THE PROPOSED ISSUANCE OF NOT TO EXCEED
$35,000,000 GENERAL OBLIGATION URBAN RENEWAL
BONDS OR CAPITAL LOAN NOTES OF THE CITY (FOR
URBAN RENEWAL PURPOSES), AND THE HEARING ON
THE ISSUANCE THEREOF
PUBLIC NOTICE is hereby given that the City Council of the City of Waukee, State of
Iowa, will hold a public hearing on the 3rd day of April, 2023, at 5:30 P.M., in the Council
Chambers, City Hall, 230 West Hickman Road, Waukee, Iowa, at which meeting the Council
proposes to take additional action for the issuance of not to exceed $35,000,000 General
Obligation Urban Renewal Bonds or Capital Loan Notes, for urban renewal purposes, to provide
funds to pay the costs of aiding in the planning, undertaking or carrying out of urban renewal
projects under the authority of Iowa Code chapter 403, and the Urban Renewal Plan, as
amended, for the Waukee Consolidated Urban Renewal Area, including the construction,
improvement, and equipping of a public safety facility, including fire and police services
necessary to protect and serve the commercial and industrial development within the urban
renewal area, with related utility and site improvements, and acquisition of real estate therefore.
Principal and interest shall be payable from the Debt Service Fund.
At any time before the date of the meeting, a petition, asking that the question of issuing
such Bonds or Notes be submitted to the legal voters of the City, may be filed with the Clerk of
the City in the manner provided by Section 362.4 of the Code of Iowa, pursuant to the provisions
of Chapters 384 and 403 of the Code of Iowa.
At the above meeting the Council shall receive oral or written objections from any
resident or property owner of the City to the above action. After all objections have been
received and considered, the Council will at the meeting or at any adjournment thereof, take
additional action for the issuance of the Bonds or Notes or will abandon the proposal to issue
said Bonds or Notes.
This notice is given by order of the City Council of the City of Waukee, State of Iowa, as
provided by Chapters 384 and 403 of the Code of Iowa.
