SYNOPSIS INCLUDING PRO & CON: Board of Adjustment Member Cynthia Swoyer is
unable to fulfill her term scheduled to expire January 31, 2024.

STAFF REVIEW AND COMMENT: Mayor Clarke will announce her appointment.

RESOLUTION 2023-
APPROVING MAYOR’S APPOINTMENT OF A CITIZEN MEMBER TO THE BOARD
OF ADJUSTMENT FOR AN UNEXPIRED TERM ENDING JANUARY 31, 2024
IN THE NAME AND BY THE AUTHORITY OF THE CITY OF WAUKEE, IOWA
WHEREAS, the City of Waukee, Iowa is a duly organized municipality within Dallas County;
AND,
WHEREAS, Board of Adjustment Member Cynthia Swoyer is unable to fulfill the remainder of
her term, scheduled to expire January 31, 2024; AND,
WHEREAS, Mayor Courtney Clarke appoints _________ to fill the unexpired Board of
Adjustment term of Cynthia Swoyer.
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED by the City of Waukee City Council in session this
3rd day of April, 2023, that the mayor’s appointment of _________ to the Board of Adjustment
for an unexpired term ending January 31, 2024, is hereby approved.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that Mayor Clarke and the City of Waukee City Council
express their sincere appreciation and thanks to Cynthia Swoyer for her dedication to the
community while serving on the Board of Adjustment.
