AGENDA ITEM:Consideration of approval of a resolution approving mayor’s appointment
of a citizen member to the Board of Appeals for an unexpired term ending
January 31, 2028

SYNOPSIS INCLUDING PRO & CON: A Board of Appeals member will be reassigned to the
Planning & Zoning Commission, creating an unexpired term on Board of
Appeals.

STAFF REVIEW AND COMMENT: Mayor Clarke will announce her appointment.
RECOMMENDATION: Approve the resolution.

RESOLUTION 2023-
APPROVING MAYOR’S APPOINTMENT OF A CITIZEN MEMBER TO THE BOARD
OF APPEALS FOR AN UNEXPIRED TERM ENDING JANUARY 31, 2028
IN THE NAME AND BY THE AUTHORITY OF THE CITY OF WAUKEE, IOWA
WHEREAS, the City of Waukee, Iowa is a duly organized municipality within Dallas County;
AND,
WHEREAS, Board of Appeals Member ____________ is unable to fulfill the remainder of her
term, scheduled to expire January 31, 2028, due to her appointment to the Planning and Zoning
Commission (Resolution #2023-XXX); AND,
WHEREAS, Mayor Courtney Clarke appoints _________ to fill the unexpired Board of
Appeals term of ____________.
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED by the City of Waukee City Council in session this
10th day of April, 2023, that the mayor’s appointment of _________ to the Board of Appeals for
an unexpired term ending January 31, 2028, is hereby approved.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that Mayor Clarke and the City of Waukee City Council
express their sincere appreciation and thanks to __________ for her dedication to the community
while serving on the Board of Appeals.
