[Waukee Police Department] FORMAT:Consent Agenda SYNOPSIS INCLUDING PRO & CON: The Police Department has experienced significant challenges in identifying contractors who thoroughly clean the police department building. The Police Department has changed vendors a couple of times over the recent past but continue to have less than acceptable performance from these contractors. For example, the current contractor does not vacuum offices if someone is in the office, they don’t wipe down any surfaces and their attendance varies based on other workload. Chief McCluskey has experience with Bullzeye Cleaning and Bullzeye is the cleaning contractor for all City of Clive facilities. Bullzeye provided a quote for cleaning the Police Department building and the Police Department would like to engage Bullzeye beginning Monday, May 29, 2023. FISCAL IMPACT INCLUDING COST/BENEFIT ANALYSIS:$1,430.00/month. While the cost is higher for Bullzeye than our current contractor, their past performance supports the additional cost and Chief McCluskey is confident he can absorb the additional costs in the current and FY24 budgets without an amendment, then the costs will be budgeted into the FY25 budget. [WAUKEE POLICE DEPARTMENT] IN THE NAME AND BY THE AUTHORITY OF THE CITY OF WAUKEE, IOWA WHEREAS, the City of Waukee, Dallas County, State of Iowa, is a duly organized Municipal Organization; AND, WHEREAS, the Waukee Police Department has received a proposal from Bullzeye, Inc., of Peru, IA, for janitorial services for their offices at the Public Safety Building; AND, WHEREAS, following a review of the proposal and having previous experience with Bullzeye, Inc., as a janitorial service in another jurisdiction, Waukee Police Chief Chad McCluskey recommends acceptance of the proposal. If entity is sold, transferred, or dissolved at anytime under contract, any outstanding balances will need to be paid by the customer. 4. An increase of 3% will be implemented Annually to the monthly service charge. 6. Any additional square footage, increase in occupancy, or additional services requested that differs from the original bid or walkthrough will be subject to a price increase based on those items or actual space added. 5. Any payment past due will be subject to a 1% late fee. 1. Cleaning equipment and chemicals to perform this service will be supplied by BullzEye, Inc. Special Instructions: Cleaning duties will be performed 2 Days a week (Monday & Thursday) after 6:00am. All interior and exterior cleaning of windows (with the exception of entry glass) is the responsibility of Waukee Police. BullzEye, Inc. can provide this service at an additional charge. Janitorial commodities (paper towels, toilet paper, can liners, etc.) can be provided and billed separately. Emergency calls will be billed as follows: $75.00 plus $40.00 per hour.
