SYNOPSIS INCLUDING PRO & CON:The Ute Avenue Resurfacing will be located on Ute
Avenue from the Eastbound On/Off ramps of the I-80 and Ute Avenue Interchange in Waukee to
County Road F-90 in Booneville.
The project includes furnishing of labor, materials, and equipment necessary for construction of
an HMA overlay on Ute Avenue from I-80 Eastbound On/Off Ramps to County Road F-90 in
Booneville. Project items include modified subbase, granular shoulders, base widening, pavement
scarification, intermediate and surface course hot mix asphalt, asphalt binder, shoulder subdrain,
painted pavement markings and symbols, traffic control, flaggers, pilot cars and other
miscellaneous items including to complete the project.
This project is included in the approved FY 2024-2028 CIP with a total project budget of
$600,000. This project has a late start date of August 14, 2023 and 20 working days for the
contractor to complete the work. The Dallas County Engineer is administering this project. A
separate 28E agreement between the City and County establishes the cost sharing of the project
between the two entities.

City of Waukee (DIV 2): $506,478.83
Total Project Cost: $1,084,997.97

NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING ON PLANS AND SPECIFICATIONS, PROPOSED FORM OF CONTRACT AND
ESTIMATE OF COST FOR CONSTRUCTION OF UTE AVENUE RESURFACING FOR THE CITY OF WAUKEE,
IOWA.
The City Council of Waukee, Iowa, will hold a public hearing on the proposed Plans, Specifications,
Form of Contract and Estimate of Costs for the construction of the above referenced public
improvements at 5:30 P.M. on May 15, 2023. At said hearing, any interested person may appear and

The Ute Avenue Resurfacing will be located on Ute Avenue from the Eastbound On/Off Ramps of the
I-80 and Ute Avenue Interchange in Waukee to County Road F-90 in Dallas County.
Due to public health concerns and guidance, in accordance with Iowa Code Sections 21.4(1)(b) and
21.8, this meeting of the Waukee City Council will be conducted with two different options for public
participation: 1) Members of the public wishing to attend in person may do so in the Council
Chambers at Waukee City Hall. 2) Members of the public wishing to participate electronically may do
