Contract and Bonds PREPARED BY: Beth Richardson REVIEWED BY: Rudy Koester RK H2D RESOLUTION 2023- RESOLUTION APPROVING CONSTRUCTION CONTRACT AND BOND FOR THE UTE AVENUE RESURFACING BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF WAUKEE, STATE OF IOWA: That the construction contract and bond executed and insurance coverage for the construction of certain public improvements described in general as the Ute Avenue Resurfacing, and as described in detail in the plans and specifications heretofore approved, and which have been signed by the Chairman and County Auditor of Dallas County, with the consent of the City of Waukee, be and the same are hereby approved as follows: Contractor:Grimes Asphalt and Paving Corp.of Des Moines, IA Amount of bid:$1,084,997.97 Bond surety:Western Surety Company Date of bond:May 8, 2023 Portion of project:All construction work PASSED AND APPROVED this 15th day of May, 2023. Mayor ATTEST: City Clerk CONTRACT DALLAS County -- Pavement Widening and Resurfacing Project Number: LFM-C025(P-78)--7X-25 Letting Date: Thursday, April 27, 2023 THIS AGREEMENT made and entered by and between DALLAS County, Iowa, by its Board of Supervisors consisting of: Kim Chapman (Chairperson), Mark Hanson, Brad Golightly, Contracting Authority, and GRIMES ASPHALT AND PAVING CORPORATION of, 5550 NE 22nd St., DES MOINES, IA 50313, Contractor. WITNESSETH: That the contractor, for and in consideration of One Million Eighty Four Thousand Nine Hundred Ninety-Seven Dollars and Ninety-Seven Cents ($1,084,997.97) payable as set forth in the specifications constituting a part of this contract, hereby agrees to construct in accordance with the plans and specification therefore, and in the locations designated in the notice to bidders, the various items of work as listed in the quantity and unit price tabulation Said specifications and plans are hereby made a part of and the basis of this agreement, and a true copy of said plans and specifications are now on file in the office of the County Engineer under the date of 4/11/2023 That in consideration of the foregoing, the Contracting Authority hereby agrees to pay the Contractor, promptly and according to the requirements of the specifications the amounts set forth, subject to the conditions as set forth in the specifications That it is mutually understood and agreed by the parties hereto that the notice to bidders, the proposal, the specifications for Project No. LFM-C025(P-78)--7X-25 in DALLAS County, Iowa, the within contract, the contractor's bond and the general and detailed plans are and constitute the basis of the contract between the parties hereto.
