AGENDA ITEM: Consideration of approval of a motion setting June 19, 2023 as the date of
public hearing on an Ordinance to amend Chapter 165.19, Zoning
Regulations, Definitions and General Regulations, Solar Energy Systems
Waukee, Iowa by adding provisions for Ground Mounted Solar Energy
Systems in Residential Districts
FORMAT: Motion
SYNOPSIS INCLUDING PRO & CON: At a prior City Council work session, the City Council
gave direction to staff to prepare an amendment to the existing Solar Energy
Systems ordinance to allow for ground mounted solar panels in residential
districts.
FISCAL IMPACT INCLUDING COST/BENEFIT ANALYSIS:
COMMISSION/BOARD/COMMITTEE COMMENT:
STAFF REVIEW AND COMMENT: Staff would recommend approval of the motion to set the
public hearing for June 19, 2023 to further discuss the proposed ordinance.
RECOMMENDATION: Approve the motion.
