STAFF REVIEW AND COMMENT: WHKS has reviewed the public improvements for the NW
Sunrise Drive Culvert Project and find it in general conformance with the standard specifications for
the City of Waukee.
RECOMMENDATION: Approve the resolution.

RESOLUTION 2023-
RESOLUTION ACCEPTING THE NW SUNRISE DRIVE
CULVERT
WHEREAS, on the 6th day of February, 2023, the Mayor and Clerk of the City of Waukee,
Iowa, entered into a construction contract with Progressive Structures, LLC, of Luxemburg, IA,
for the construction of certain public improvements generally described as the NW Sunrise Drive
Culvert; and
WHEREAS, the contractor has fully completed the construction of the public
improvements in accordance with the terms and conditions of the contract and plans and
specifications, as shown by the certificate of the Engineer filed with the Clerk on September 9,
2023:
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
WAUKEE, STATE OF IOWA:
Section 1.That the report of the Engineer be and the same is hereby approved and adopted,
and the public improvements are hereby approved and accepted as having been fully completed in
accordance with the plans, specifications and form of contract and the total final construction cost
thereof is hereby determined to be $363,040.98, as shown in the report of the Engineer.

PROJECT ACCEPTANCE CERTIFICATION
RE: City of Waukee
NW Sunrise Drive Culvert (STORM 24-01)
WHKS & Co. hereby certifies that we have coordinated with the Contractor and City staff performing
field observation of the construction work completed on the above referenced project by Progressive
Structures, LLC.
We find the project to be in substantial compliance with the Plans, Specifications, and Change Orders
governing the project as of September 5, 2023. The final amount of the Contract is Three Hundred
Sixty-three Thousand Forty and 98/100 Dollars ($363,040.98).
