[Waukee Public Safety Facility, Station Alerting System] FORMAT:Resolution SYNOPSIS INCLUDING PRO & CON: The fire department portion of the new public safety building will include a station alerting system. The system includes audio and visual components to alert personnel to emergencies. This system is used throughout the Westcom system including Clive, Urbandale, West Des Moines, and Norwalk. FISCAL IMPACT INCLUDING COST/BENEFIT ANALYSIS: The cost of the station alerting system is $79,387, including a year of maintenance after the initial warranty period. Installation is not included and will be part of a separate bid package. The Locution System and installation is included in the building construction budget. Approval of the resolution will lock in the price. COMMISSION/BOARD/COMMITTEE COMMENT: STAFF REVIEW AND COMMENT: Staff recommends approval. RECOMMENDATION: Approve the resolution. ATTACHMENTS: I.
