SYNOPSIS INCLUDING PRO & CON:This project includes the furnishing of all labor,
equipment and materials necessary for approximately 3,500 linear feet of 8-inch through 12-inch
diameter sanitary sewer by trenchless and open cut methods, sanitary manholes, excavation and
backfill, lift station demolition, surface restoration and miscellaneous associated work, including
cleanup.
The Bluestem Trunk Sewer – Phase 2 is located north of SE Ashworth Road between Timber
Creek Lane and SE Parkview Crossing Drive.
This project is included in the approved FY 2024-2028 CIP with a total project budget of
approximately $1,810,000. This project has an interim completion date with the sanitary sewer
fully installed, tested and operational of November 30, 2024 subject to any extensions of time
which may be granted by the City. All work on the project shall be completed by May 31, 2025.

NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING
NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING ON PLANS AND SPECIFICATIONS, PROPOSED FORM OF CONTRACT
AND ESTIMATE OF COST FOR CONSTRUCTION OF THE BLUESTEM TRUNK SEWER – PHASE 2
FOR THE CITY OF WAUKEE, IOWA.
The City Council of Waukee, Iowa, will hold a public hearing on the proposed Plans,
Specifications, Form of Contract and Estimate of Costs for the construction of the above
referenced public improvements at 5:30 P.M. on January 2, 2024. At said hearing, any
interested person may appear and file objections thereto or to the cost of the improvements.
The work to be done is as follows:

Construct Bluestem Trunk Sewer- Phase 2 including all labor, materials and equipment
necessary for approximately 3,500 linear feet of 8-inch through 12-inch diameter sanitary
sewer by trenchless and open cut, manholes, excavation and backfill, lift station demolition,
surface restoration and miscellaneous associated work, including cleanup.

Due to public health concerns and guidance, in accordance with Iowa Code Sections 21.4(1)(b)
and 21.8, this meeting of the Waukee City Council will be conducted with two different options
for public participation: 1) Members of the public wishing to attend in person may do so in the
Council Chambers at Waukee City Hall. 2) Members of the public wishing to participate
