Water Works]
FORMAT:Public Hearing
SYNOPSIS INCLUDING PRO & CON: Over a series of years, a study has been completed
relative to the future of providing drinking water within the Des Moines
Metro Area. Through those conversations, the Central Iowa Water
Works (CIWW) has been proposed which addresses both short term and
long-term solutions for providing water to Waukee and surrounding
communities. On January 2, 2023, the Waukee City Council approved a
resolution to conditionally join the Central Iowa Water Works as a
founding member with the approval of a 28E/28F agreement.
The City Council must also consider taking action on the transfer of
certain assets that are considered to be a part of the regional water
system. Specifically for Waukee, this includes the Xenia Booster Station
at L.P. Moon.
