AGENDA ITEM:Consideration of approval of Change Order No. 1 to Busy Bee
Construction for Transite Water Main Replacement – Phase 3 project
increasing the contract amount by $23,082.69.
FORMAT:Consent Agenda
SYNOPSIS INCLUDING PRO & CON: Change Order No. 1 is for extra work associated with
the connection to the existing 12” water main at Kaylin Drive and Ashworth Drive. The cost
includes additional labor and materials required for the installation of a tee fitting instead of a
tapping sleeve, as well as additional effort required due to the proximity to an existing 4” gas line
and the back of curb. As a result of this change, no pavement removal and replacement was
required on Ashworth Drive which was recently resurfaced.
FISCAL IMPACT INCLUDING COST/BENEFIT ANALYSIS: The net result of this
Change Order increases the contract price in the amount of $23,082.69.
