STAFF REVIEW AND COMMENT: The project engineer has reviewed the public improvements
for the Waukee Public Works Site Expansion Phase 1 Project and finds that the work performed is in
substantial conformance with the plans and specifications.
RECOMMENDATION: Approve the resolution.

RESOLUTION 2024-
RESOLUTION ACCEPTING THE WAUKEE PUBLIC WORKS -
SITE EXPANSION PHASE 1
WHEREAS, on the 20th day of December, 2021, the Mayor and Clerk of the City of
Waukee, Iowa, entered into a construction contract with Core Construction Services, LLC, of Des
Moines, IA, for the construction of certain public improvements generally described as the Waukee
Public Works - Site Expansion Phase 1; and
WHEREAS, the contractor has fully completed the construction of the public
improvements in accordance with the terms and conditions of the contract and plans and
specifications, as shown by the certificate of the Engineer filed with the Clerk on January 31, 2024:
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
WAUKEE, STATE OF IOWA:
Section 1.That the report of the Engineer be and the same is hereby approved and adopted,
and the public improvements are hereby approved and accepted as having been fully completed in
accordance with the plans, specifications and form of contract and the total final construction cost
thereof is hereby determined to be $5,989,554.51, as shown in the report of the Engineer.

STATEMENT OF FINAL COMPLETION

OWNER’S ACCEPTANCE OF THE WORK

I, the undersigned Engineer / Architect of the above designated project, do hereby state that:
1. The construction provided for pursuant to CONTRACT DOCUMENTS including all
approved amendments and Change Orders, hereafter called the WORK between the
OWNER and CONTRACTOR has been completed and to the best of my knowledge and
belief, is in substantial compliance with the provisions of the CONTRACT DOCUMENTS.
2. The final payment authorized hereto and made a part hereof is a complete and accurate
summary of the WORK performed in accordance with the CONTRACT DOCUMENTS.
3. The total cost of the WORK as completed is $5,989,554.51
I recommend, under the provisions of the CONTRACT DOCUMENTS, that the WORK be
accepted, and that the final payment be made.

The CONTRACTOR shall guarantee materials and equipment furnished and construction
performed having provided a MAINTENACNE BOND which shall remain in full force and effect
for a period of four (4) years from date of acceptance by the OWNER.
(Note if Certificate of Substantial Completion was issued then effective date of Bond is as
approved by the OWNER on Certificate of Substantial Completion)
