STAFF REVIEW AND COMMENT: Shive Hattery, Inc. has reviewed the public improvements for
Warrior Lane Improvements – Phase 2 project and find it in substantial compliance with the plans and
specifications for the project.
RECOMMENDATION: Approve the resolution.

RESOLUTION 2024-
RESOLUTION ACCEPTING THE WARRIOR LANE
IMPROVEMENTS - PHASE 2
WHEREAS, on the 22nd day of February, 2022, the Mayor and Clerk of the City of
Waukee, Iowa, entered into a construction contract with Absolute Concrete Construction, Inc., of
Slater, IA, for the construction of certain public improvements generally described as the Warrior
Lane Improvements - Phase 2; and
WHEREAS, the contractor has fully completed the construction of the public
improvements in accordance with the terms and conditions of the contract and plans and
specifications, as shown by the certificate of the Engineer filed with the Clerk on February 13,
2024:
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
WAUKEE, STATE OF IOWA:
Section 1.That the report of the Engineer be and the same is hereby approved and adopted,
and the public improvements are hereby approved and accepted as having been fully completed in
accordance with the plans, specifications and form of contract and the total final construction cost
thereof is hereby determined to be $2,449,732.28, as shown in the report of the Engineer.

We hereby certify that we have made an on-site review of the
construction of the Warrior Lane Improvements - Phase 2 as
performed by Absolute Concrete Construction, Inc.
As Engineers for the project, it is our opinion that the work
performed is in substantial accordance with the plans and
specifications and that the final amount of the Contract is two
million, four hundred forty-nine thousand, seven hundred
thirty-two dollars and twenty-eight cents. ($2,449,732.28).
