AGENDA ITEM: Consideration of approval of a Motion to set a Public Hearing Date of
April 1, 2024, as the date of public hearing on an ordinance to amend
Chapter 169, Zoning Ordinance, City of Waukee, Iowa, by rezoning
certain property from K-MF-HIGH (Kettlestone Multi-Family Stacked
High District) to K-MF-HIGH / PD-1 (Kettlestone Multi-Family Stacked
High District with a Planned Development Overlay) [Kettlestone Peak
Apartments]
FORMAT: Motion
SYNOPSIS INCLUDING PRO & CON: Staff has received a request for rezoning of
approximately 15.22-acres of property from K-MF-HIGH to K-MF-
HIGH / PD-1. The property is generally located north of SE Pleasant
View Drive and east of SE Glacier Trail.
FISCAL IMPACT INCLUDING COST/BENEFIT ANALYSIS:
COMMISSION/BOARD/COMMITTEE COMMENT:
STAFF REVIEW AND COMMENT: Staff would recommend approval of the City Council
setting the public hearing date for April 1, 2024, to discuss this matter
further. Council action to set the public hearing date does not indicate
support for the project. Rather, it represents the Council’s willingness to
allow the public hearing process to continue.
RECOMMENDATION: Approve the motion.
