HomeMy WebLinkAbout2024-03-18 I01I_03 Hope Springs Rezoning_Set PH AGENDA ITEM: CITY OF WAUKEE, IOWA CITY COUNCIL MEETING COMMUNICATION MEETING DATE: March 18, 2024 AGENDA ITEM: Consideration of approval of a Motion to set a Public Hearing Date of April 15, 2024, as the date of public hearing on an ordinance to amend Chapter 169, Zoning Ordinance, City of Waukee, Iowa, by rezoning certain property from R-4 [Row Dwelling and Townhome Dwelling District] to R-3 [Multi-Family Residential District] and C-1 [Community and Highway Service Commercial District]; and from A-1 [Agricultural District] to C-1 [Community and Highway Service Commercial District] (Hope Springs) FORMAT: Motion SYNOPSIS INCLUDING PRO & CON: Staff has received a request for rezoning of approximately 15.13-acres of property from A-1 to C-1, approximately 0.78-acres of property from R-4 to C-1 and approximately 0.40-acres of property from R-4 to R-3. The property is generally located south of Hickman Road and west of 11th Street. FISCAL IMPACT INCLUDING COST/BENEFIT ANALYSIS: COMMISSION/BOARD/COMMITTEE COMMENT: STAFF REVIEW AND COMMENT: Staff would recommend approval of the City Council setting the public hearing date for April 15, 2024, to discuss this matter further. Council action to set the public hearing date does not indicate support for the project. Rather, it represents the Council’s willingness to allow the public hearing process to continue.
