AGENDA ITEM: Consideration of approval of a resolution amending certain addresses for a
multi-tenant building located at 1040 SE Frontier Avenue (Lot 1 of Westgate
Business Park Plat 3) within the City of Waukee.
FORMAT: Resolution
SYNOPSIS INCLUDING PRO & CON: In 2019, a multi-tenant building was constructed on Lot 1
of Westgate Business Park Plat 3, locally addressed as 1040 SE Frontier Ave.
Previous practice for addressing tenant spaces in multi-tenant buildings was to
assign individual addresses for each space instead of suite numbers. The City
has since changed that policy and is now utilizing suite numbers for multi-
tenant buildings. The owner of the existing building at 1040 SE Frontier Ave
has requested that the City readdress the tenant spaces within the building to
suite numbers.
FISCAL IMPACT INCLUDING COST/BENEFIT ANALYSIS:
COMMISSION/BOARD/COMMITTEE COMMENT:
STAFF REVIEW AND COMMENT: The requested change in address still fits within the confines
of the addressing grid and staff does not have any concerns with the proposed
change. Upon approval of the City Council, the address change would be
recorded with the County and all records including E911 databases would be
updated with the new addresses.
RECOMMENDATION: Approve the resolution.

RESOLUTION 2024-
APPROVAL OF AMENDING CERTAIN ADDRESSES FOR A MULTI-TENANT
BUILDING LOCATED AT 1040 SE FRONTIER AVENUE (LOT 1, WESTGATE
BUISNESS PARK PLAT 3)
IN THE NAME AND BY THE AUTHORITY OF THE CITY OF WAUKEE, IOWA
WHEREAS, the City of Waukee, Dallas County, State of Iowa, is a duly organized
Municipal Organization; AND,
WHEREAS, the City of Waukee approved the site plan for 1040 SE Frontier Avenue, Lot
1 Westgate Business Park Plat 3, on May 20, 2019; AND,
WHEREAS, as part of the approval of the site plan the City of Waukee assigned
individual addresses for each tenant space within the building; AND,
WHEREAS, it has been determined that the individual tenant spaces within the building
need to be readdressed; AND,
WHEREAS, staff recommends changing the following local addresses within the City as
follows:

NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Waukee,
Iowa in session this 15th day of April 2024, that the local addresses as referenced above are
amended. A copy of this resolution shall be filed of record with the Recorders Office of
Dallas County, Iowa.
