RESOLUTION 2024-154
APPROVING THE TEMPORARY CLOSING OF CERTAIN PORTIONS OF PUBLIC
STREETS ON SATURDAY, JULY 20, 2024, FROM 6:30 A.M. TO 9:00 A.M. FOR THE
WAUKEE ARTS FESTIVAL 5K
IN THE NAME AND BY THE A UTHORITY OF THE CITY OF WA UKEE, IOWA
WHEREAS, the City of Waukee, Iowa is a duly organized municipality within Dallas County;
AND,
WHEREAS, organizers of the Waukee Arts Festival request the temporary closing of certain
public streets adjacent to Centennial Park on Saturday, July 20, 2024, for a 5K walk/run; AND,
WHEREAS, pursuant to §364.12(2)(a), public ways and grounds may be temporarily closed by
resolution;
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED by the City of Waukee City Council in session this
15t' day of April, 2024, that it hereby approves the temporary closing of S. Warrior Lane from
528 feet south of Park Road to 260 feet south of University Avenue and the temporary closing of
University Avenue from S. Warrior Lane east to Ashworth Road/SE L.A. Grant Parkway
between the hours of 6:30 a.m. and 9:00 a.m. on Saturday, July 20, 2024.
