Call to Order — The special meeting of the Waukee City Council was called to order by Mayor Clarke at 5:35 p.m. at Waukee City Hall, 230 W. Hickman Rd. B. Roll Call — The following members were present: Mayor Courtney Clarke; Council Members R. Charles Bottenberg, Chris Crone, Rob Grove, Anna Bergman Pierce, Ben Sinclair. Absent: None. Also in attendance: City Administrator Brad Deets, Assistant City Administrator Nick Osborne, Finance Director Linda Burkhart, Community Development Director Andy Kass, Public Works Director/City Engineer Rudy Koester, Parks & Recreation Director Matt Jermier, Library Director Kristine Larson, Human Resources Director Michelle Lindsay, IT Director Son Le, Director of Marketing & Communications Heather Behrens, Fire Chief Clint Robinson, Police Chief Chad McCluskey, City Clerk Rebecca D. Schuett. C. Agenda Approval — Council Member Pierce moved to approve the agenda; seconded by Council Member Crone. Results of vote: Ayes: Bottenberg, Crone, Grove, Pierce, Sinclair. Nays: None. Motion carried 5 — 0. D. Action Items: 1) Consent Agenda — Council Member Sinclair moved to approve the Consent Agenda; seconded by Council Member Pierce. Results of vote: Ayes: Bottenberg, Crone, Grove, Pierce, Sinclair. Nays: None. Motion carried 5 — 0. A. Consideration of approval of Payment Estimate No. 4 (Combined) for the Waukee Public Safety Building Project in the amount of $85,840.10 B. Consideration of approval of a resolution for the renewal of an enterprise agreement between the City of Waukee, Iowa, and Microsoft Corporation (Resolution #2024-165) E. Work Session: 1) City Sustainability Project goal setting — Ted Redmond with PaleBlueDot, LLC, introduced the concept of sustainability and the potential benefits of a sustainability plan, as well as implementation strategies and actions. He reviewed the City's baseline assessment and presented starter goal recommendations in the categories of energy, transportation and equipment, water and land, and sustainable operations. Also in attendance was Ryan Davis with Bolton & Menk. F. Comments Council Member Bottenberg moved to adjourn; seconded by Council Member Sinclair. Ayes: All. Nays: None. Motion carried 5 — 0.
