AGENDA ITEM: Consideration of approval of a temporary use permit for Underdogs, Inc.,
d/b/a Mullets (890 SE Olson Drive)
FORMAT: Resolution
SYNOPSIS INCLUDING PRO & CON: Staff has received a temporary site plan request for a
temporary use permit from Underdogs, Inc. (Mullets). The permit request
is to allow Mullets to operate a food and beverage (including alcohol)
stand at the Sportsplex West sand volleyball courts located at 890 SE
Olson Drive. The operation would begin on June 4, 2024, and end on
October 31, 2024. The hours of operation would be from 4:00 pm to
10:00 pm. The stand would only be open when sand volleyball games are
scheduled.
FISCAL IMPACT INCLUDING COST/BENEFIT ANALYSIS:
COMMISSION/BOARD/COMMITTEE COMMENT:
STAFF REVIEW AND COMMENT: City staff have reviewed the temporary use permit
application and are comfortable with the request.
RECOMMENDATION: Staff would recommend approval of the proposed resolution.

RESOLUTION 2024-
APPROVING TEMPORARY USE PERMIT REQUEST AT 890 SE OLSON DRIVE
[UNDERDOGS, INC., D/B/A MULLETS]
IN THE NAME AND BY THE AUTHORITY OF THE CITY OF WAUKEE, IOWA
WHEREAS, the City of Waukee, Dallas County, State of Iowa, is a duly organized
Municipal Organization; AND,
WHEREAS, Underdogs, Inc., d/b/a Mullets, has received permission from SportsPlex West
to operate a food and beverage stand on property located at 890 SE Olson Drive; AND,
WHEREAS, Underdogs, Inc., d/b/a Mullets is requesting approval of a temporary use permit
to operate the food and beverage stand from June 4, 2024 to October 31, 2024.
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED by the City of Waukee City Council in session
this 3rd day of June, 2024, that it hereby approves the temporary use permit for 890 SE Olson
Drive for June 4, 2024 to October 31, 2024.
