AGENDA ITEM:Consideration of approval of a Motion to set a Public Hearing Date of
July 1, 2024, as the date of public hearing on an ordinance to amend
Chapter 169, Zoning Ordinance, City of Waukee, Iowa, by rezoning
certain property from R-2 (One and Two-Family Residential District) to
R-2 / PD-1 (One and Two-Family Residential / Planned Development
Overlay District) [Fox Creek Meadows]
FORMAT:Motion
SYNOPSIS INCLUDING PRO & CON: Staff has received a request for rezoning of
approximately 17.32-acres of property from R-2 to R-2 / PD-1. The
property is generally located north of NW Douglas Parkway and west of
NW 10th Street.
FISCAL IMPACT INCLUDING COST/BENEFIT ANALYSIS:
COMMISSION/BOARD/COMMITTEE COMMENT:
STAFF REVIEW AND COMMENT: Staff would recommend approval of the City Council
setting the public hearing date for July 1, 2024, to discuss this matter
further. Council action to set the public hearing date does not indicate
support for the project. Rather, it represents the Council’s willingness to
allow the public hearing process to continue.
RECOMMENDATION: Approve the motion.
