SYNOPSIS INCLUDING PRO & CON:This project includes all labor, materials and
equipment necessary for approximately 4,735 linear feet of 8-inch water main primarily
directional bored in place, hydrants, valves, fittings, connections to the existing system, service
reconnections, surface restoration and miscellaneous associated work, including cleanup.
The Transite Water Main Replacement Phase 4 will be located along segments of Gray Avenue,
Christopher Avenue, and 1st Street.
This project is included in the approved FY 2025-2029 CIP with a total project budget of
$1,000,000.00. This project has a completion date of May 31, 2025.

NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING
NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING ON PLANS AND SPECIFICATIONS, PROPOSED FORM OF CONTRACT
AND ESTIMATE OF COST FOR CONSTRUCTION OF THE TRANSITE WATER MAIN REPLACEMENT –
PHASE 4 FOR THE CITY OF WAUKEE, IOWA.
The City Council of Waukee, Iowa, will hold a public hearing on the proposed Plans,
Specifications, Form of Contract and Estimate of Costs for the construction of the above
referenced public improvements at 5:30 p.m. on June 17, 2024. At said hearing, any interested
person may appear and file objections thereto or to the cost of the improvements. The work to
be done is as follows:
TRANSITE WATER MAIN REPLACEMENT – PHASE 4
Construct Transite Water Main Replacement – Phase 4 including all labor, materials, and
equipment necessary for approximately 4,735 linear feet of 8-inch water main primarily
directional bored in place, hydrants, valves, fittings, connections to the existing system,
service reconnections, surface restoration and miscellaneous associated work, including
cleanup.
The Transite Water Main Replacement – Phase 4 will be located along segments of Gray
Avenue, Christopher Avenue, and 1st Street.
In accordance with Iowa Code Sections 21.4(1)(b) and 21.8, this meeting of the Waukee City
Council will be conducted with two different options for public participation: 1) Members of the
public wishing to attend in person may do so in the Council Chambers at Waukee City Hall. 2)
