This grant will be used to complete the first public art project initiated by the Waukee Public Art Advisory Commission and must be spent between July 1, 2024 and July 1, 2026. FISCAL IMPACT INCLUDING COST/BENEFIT ANALYSIS: There is no funding match required for this grant, but the city has budgeted a sufficient amount to complete the project. Contract negotiations with the selected artist should be complete soon. COMMISSION/BOARD/COMMITTEE COMMENT: STAFF REVIEW AND COMMENT: RECOMMENDATION: Staff would recommend approval of the resolution. GC Public Art Grant Agreement PREPARED BY: Nick Osborne, Assistant City Administrator REVIEWED BY: PUBLIC NOTICE INFORMATION – NAME OF PUBLICATION: DATE OF PUBLICATION: I12 THE CITY OF WAUKEE, IOWA RESOLUTION 2024- RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE ACCEPTANCE OF A PUBLIC ART GRANT AWARD AND EXECUTING AN AGREEMENT WITH BRAVO GREATER DES MOINES IN THE NAME AND BY THE AUTHORITY OF THE CITY OF WAUKEE, IOWA WHEREAS, the City of Waukee, Iowa is a duly organized municipality within Dallas County; AND, WHEREAS, the City of Waukee has a current 28E Agreement and is a member in good standing with Bravo Greater Des Moines; AND, WHEREAS, the City developed the Waukee Public Art and Culture Plan in 2023 and applied for a public art grant to cover a portion of the expenses associated with the first public art project initiated by the Waukee Public Art Advisory Commission; AND, WHEREAS, Bravo Greater Des Moines announced that subject to agreeing to the attached agreement, the City of Waukee will be awarded a public art grant worth $50,000. NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED by the City of Waukee City Council in session this 17th day of June, 2024, that the GC24 Public Art Grant Agreement is approved and the City accepts a grant award of $50,000.
